Jess has all but given up on blogging, so here's a small update:

We did my families annual trip to Santa Cruz, and although the WHOLE family wasn't there, we still had a fun time!

Our friends, Ashley and Devin, were able to come down for a couple nights, so it was fun to have them there!

The only bummer was that it rained Saturday night while we were at the boardwalk so we were a little miserable and wet!

Other than that, we hung out at the beach, and just hung out!

I went for our annual bike ride and learned nothing from last year and went out too hard and ended up leaving remnants of my breakfast on the side of the road.

Last night Mike and I decided to do something out of our norm for our date night so we drove to Sacramento for the last weekend of outdoor ice skating. It was fun but we both agreed the skates did not smell very pleasant and they didn't feel very pleasant on our feet either!

But with all the bad we got to spend a few moments together just the two of us holding hands and talking! Sometimes that's all you need to make a fantastic date night!

We snapped a few photos of our adventure and we then got some cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. It was delicious and that was the first time I've ever actually tried cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory.

I just love date night with Mike!

I would do anything as long as he was by my side!

Thanks to my oh so creative friend, Ashley, I was able to make such cute decorations for my bathroom which I have wanted to do since we moved into our apartment!! For my lack of creativity I was so thrilled with everything and more importantly super impressed with myself! Haha

Mike is so OLD!!

I am so bad at blogging lately and the truth is I've actually been busy with work and my new calling as the beehive advisor! (Which I LOVE!!!) Mike and I have been busy busy and especially during this season we have a lot going on!

It doesn't help that my poor husband has been suffering with a cold/cough for 3 weeks and on top of that he has had severe pink eye in both eyes for almost a week now! Those drops do not seem to be doing their job!

BUT because I have been so busy I have completely neglected to put up my husbands birthday post!

I am a month late! But better late than never...

So I, being my little sneaky self, made my oh so trusting husband believe that my checks were a little less than they actually were each paycheck. When in actuality I was hoarding a little money from every paycheck and stashing the cash in my bottom drawer to buy Mike the Ultimate Birthday Present! He had no idea and believed we didn't have enough money to get him ANYTHING for his birthday! It's so hard to surprise him and he was SOOOOO surprised and I was soo happy!!

Mikes been so sad that we left his big ghetto speakers in Rexburg when we moved back and I finally saved up enough money to get my hubby a new sound system! Blue ray DVD player with wifi capability! LOVE NETFLIX!

Then we had a party for just friends! We went out to dinner with a couple of our friends and then a bunch of people came over to our place for cake and ice cream!

We had some friends over the other night for pumpkin carving and to make caramel apples! YUM!! It was super fun and are so glad we have such fun friends!! Here's the pics from the night! ENJOY and try not to get to jealous of all the friends we have!!! :)

Truths of Life

Saw this on my friends blog and was literally crying I was laughing so hard! Totally brightened my day and I hope it does yours too!

1. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.

2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.

5. How the heck are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

6. Was learning cursive really necessary?

7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on #5. I'm prettysure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

9. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.

10. Bad decisions make good stories.

11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.

12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection...again.

13. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page research paper that I swear I did not make any changes to.

14. "Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this - ever.

15. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Dang it!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voicemail. What did you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and runaway?

16. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.

17. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

18. I think the freezer deserves a light as well.

19. Sometimes, I'll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and suddenly realize I had no idea what the heck was going on when I first saw it.

20. I would rather try to carry 10 plastic grocery bags in each hand than take 2 trips to bring my groceries in.

21. The only time I look forward to a red light is when I'm trying to finish a text.

22. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

23. How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said?

24. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters!

25. Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever.

26. There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far..

27. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.

28. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd bet my behind everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time!

Feelin' Like Grown Ups

So, pretty much the last time we posted was when we were moving from Yorba Linda up to Rocklin...so...here are a few quick life updates:

Jess is working for a Chiropractor and learning all about the body. We are both enjoying the free adjustments and learning how to live a life free of subluxations ;)

We are on a co-ed soccer team and are obviously dominating. We are playing with some of Mike's friends from Rocklin and this season Eric, Rob and Cindy are playing with us, so it's really fun. We have pictures somewhere, so we'll find them and post when we get a chance (not likely to happen).

We lived with Gregg and Pat for a few months and had a good time hanging out with the fam. Jess and Kyle really hit it off and would stay up til 2am talking and giggling downstairs. After almost 8 months of living with the parental units (almost half of our married life), we decided to find a place of our own.

We really like living in Rocklin, and have made some good friends in the ward, so we found a nice little apartment just around the corner from Gregg and Pat and so we get to stay in the ward!

We are slowly decorating and liking being 'on our own' more and more everyday.

But then, we went to the RC Willey Labor Day sale and found some amazing doorbuster specials, like this table.

And this couch and ottoman!!

We've found that the ottoman is the perfect place to store our Tennis rackets.


It's all coming together.

I  am pretty proud of myself for how creative I was for our Date Night! I  remembered that Mike had said that he wanted to go here for a while and  hadn't been since he was little so I decided this would be fun and I'd  never been here before either! 

So we went HERE...

Mike  is a pro baseball hitter or batter whatever you call it and he taught  me how to hit a faster ball and not just the girlie softball lob! 

We had a lot of fun laughing at each other and cheering each other on!

We cuddled up on the couch and watched our movie! I love date night and my husband!

It's Been A While...

Well the last time I posted we were moving out of our apartment and out of Rexburg for the last time. So I decided why not post again when we're MOVING. We have lived with my parents for the past 3 months and have been so blessed to be able to save some money, get some work experience, and spend time with family. I have had a job at a property management company while Mike is still working hard at a medical supply company. Mike has been transferred to the Sacramento Office where he will take over as Office Manager and Sales Rep. I'm so proud of all the hard work he is doing and how he has such high expectations for himself in his career choices.

We are moving the 16th of April and are so excited! We have started looking for houses and can't wait for this new chapter in our lives to begin. It's a very bitter sweet move because we will miss Southern California and my parents soo much but this will be a great opportunity for Mike and I to be independent, working adults and live in a new place.

Easter was so much fun this year, getting a beautiful boquet of flowers, waking up to easter baskets full of chocolates and gifts cards, having an easter egg hunt, and having a DELICIOUS Prime Rib dinner, and just being with Family.

I love you Mike and can't wait for our fresh start in a new place!!!

You inspire me to be better and I admire everything about you.

Time to Play Catch up With the Smiths!

Alright so a lot of things have happened since the beginning of December, We moved out of our little one bedroom apt., Mike and I both Graduated from BYU-I, we spent a full week with the Smith Family for our first Christmas as a married couple , we spent New Years with the Lindsey Family, and Mike got a REAL JOB. (yay!)He's been working so hard and I am so proud of him. We now live in Southern California, yes you guessed it, with the Parents but its been really fun to spend this time with Family. So here are some pictures of the festivities. (Be prepared for Picture Overload)Goodbye Rexburg!!

When we finally made it to Northern California after the long drive home, Mike had a boys day out with all his buddies and they went rock climbing. Here's my man showing off his stuff.
On Pat's Birthday we got pizza and hot fudge sundaes and Mike and I got to watch Kami cakes and Dylan! I'm glad we got to see the little ones. Kami had so much fun playing with the girls.On Christmas Eve we got to open up 2 presents, 1 being pajamas and the other our gift from Mama and Papa Smith we got a new video camera and a cute framed quote.
This is Erika running around in circles because she's so excited for Christmas and wouldn't stop to get her shirt on.
I even made a batch of peanut butter cookies with the hershey's kisses that, not only turned out great but, actually got eaten. I snapped a picture right before the last one was devoured.On Christmas morning I felt like a little kid again. I was all giddy for mike to see what I had gotten him and he felt the same about me. I can't believe all the amazing gifts I got from my new family and my husband. I am so blessed to have this amazing family that has accepted me and made me feel like such a part of the family. I couldn't have asked for a better first Christmas with my In-laws. It was so much fun and I can't wait until we are all together again.
(p.s. if you haven't ever played the game balderdash I suggest you buy it! I bought it for Mike for Christmas and the whole family spent the next 3 days playing it cuz it was so much fun and HILARIOUS!)

On New Years Eve we had an outrageous Bunco Tournament with cash prizes, Bingo Tournament with more prizes and lots of Yummy Food! Thanks to My big Seester for planning such a fun New Years!

Happy Birthday to the most amazing man in the whole world! Mike opened all his presents in bed and he got some really good stuff thanks to his parents, brother and sister and some were from me as well. He got lots of movies, 24 the whole season, some ties, a new dress shirt, some new slippers/moccasins, new razor blades, and some candy. We had a big breakfast with waffles, eggs, sausage, and bacon followed by some relaxing on the couch, then later that night we went out to dinner with some friends to Olive Garden, YUM, and came home for some cake and ice cream. Then we went to a concert with some friends and had a blast! I hope your day was all that you hoped it would be and more! Here are some pics from the festivities! I love you so much Mike!! Okay so here's the deal...I'm not very good at surprising Mike because I am the worst liar. With his birthday coming up I knew his present had to be something great and definitely had to be a surprise. To my luck I found out his favorite band, Brand New, was playing in Salt Lake this weekend on Oct. 9th! I knew, because it was a month before his birthday, it would be the perfect gift and perfect surprise! So I surprised him with a cute scavenger hunt around the apartment and gave him the surprise of his life, TICKETS TO THE CONCERT! I totally kept it in all to myself and was so proud!

When I woke up from my nap today Mike said, "Uh oh Jess, bad news!" And I was like oh no whats the matter? He said that because one of the members of the band is sick they had to cancel the show in Salt Lake! I'm so bummed because it was all planned out and it was going to be a perfect weekend with my husband! They are going to reschedule the concert so hopefully we will still be able to see the show!

Well, I feel like it is FINALLY time to blog about what has truly been going on in our home. Now this may shock some of you but it was something that needed to be done! Mike and I are on a..... DIET!
Trust me it's hard for us to believe as well. We are so committed to this and we know this is going to help us so much in our future! I know that I couldn't do it without him and I am so grateful for a husband who is willing to give up delicious food for the sake of helping me and for both of us to feel and look better! He is such a trooper and he is doing so well. He has already lost 10 pounds and is working so hard to get in shape. I have lost 10 pounds so far as well and I already feel great! We have a menu that we DO NOT stray from and a work out plan every week to help us reach our goals.
Thanks to my amazing sister-in-law, Sarah we have the perfect plan that is personalized for our bodies! Not only will we get to feel great about ourselves and are already feeling better as we speak, but did I mention we're doing a Lindsey Family Biggest Loser with a cash prize at the end?! This goes to the one family member that reaches their goal at the end of 12 weeks. Soooo like I said, Let the contest begin!!!! It's on family, oh ya it's on!!

Notice: There are no pictures on this post of our before pictures and that might never happen(haha) but we will definitely put up some after pictures so you all can look forward to that! Oh and we're not going to put up any pictures of our bodies until we're done with the 12 weeks so the family doesn't get to discouraged by how good we are looking! HaHa

We spent this past weekend at Bear Lake for Mike's 1st Olympic Triathlon! Not only was Mike nervous because it was his first Olympic distance triathlon but he also didn't have much time to train because of the many vacations we took over the seven week break! I was nervous for him too! His goal was to finish and not only did he succeed in finishing the race but he also got 1ST place in his age group! Way to go my man! You are amazing!

So we moved out of our luxury home on the 1st of September and into our new... well if you can call it an apt. then I guess our new one bedroom apt. I thought not having a dishwasher or a disposal was bad but I think that Mike and I underestimated how much stuff we actually have and a one bedroom apartment that is falling apart just doesn't have very much space. Sunny California

We spent two whole weeks in Rexburg alone and it was time for a vacation. So Mike and I decided to surprise Pat and Gregg and go to Rocklin for a week to spend some time with the Smiths. It was so much fun and great to be out of Rexburg. We spent the week lounging, boating on Folsom Lake, swimming, and we even got to stop by Eric and Sam's for dinner one night.

Then we were off to Southern California to spend some time with the Lindsey's. All the family was in town for the week and so it was perfect timing for us because I was in a wedding for my friend Cierra that weekend. After the wedding we spent a lot of time swimming, playing tennis, going to the beach, Mike beating Bryce in Wii tennis, and we went to an Angel's game.

Mike did another triathlon in Rexburg on the 15 of August and I am so proud of him! He swam just over half a mile, biked 14.2 miles, and ran 3.1 miles! He did so well that HE was even a little shocked. He placed 3rd in his age group and placed 17 overall out of 220 triathletes.

Okay so I know this was a loooong time ago but I've been slacking on the blogging since then so I thought I would catch everyone up on what we've been up to the past couple months!

Our fourth of July was so much fun! Mike and I took a trip down to Utah for a Fugal family reunion and we were lucky enough to get tickets from Mike's uncle to Stadium of Fire where we saw Shedaisy and The Jonas Brothers perform! OH and did I mention we were in the 4th row on the field?!?!? It was so good to spend that time with family!Lexi Loo!! Such a Cutie Pie at her first concert!YA thats the stage and those are our seats!!! SOO CLOSE!

We won our quarter-final soccer game tonight!
We were a bit intimidated because we've been playing in a lower league all season (which we went undefeated in!), but we stepped it up as a team and played really well!

Triathalon Weekend!

We had a special visitor this weekend! Mister Shawn Hallam (Mike's best friend from Rocklin) came up from his busy schedule in Utah to spend the weekend with us(well with Mike but I was there too)! He and Mike had so much fun talking about old times and they even did the school's triathalon together. Here are some pics from the race!Mike could not get this on over his wet back! I helped!! :)

So, Your probably wondering why this is my second time putting up a blog with the title of "Ouch" but it's not a sore bum this time, in fact it's not even me! Mike comes home from his 7:45 a.m. class and tells me that his eye hurts. I'm thinking, "Oh it's probably just allergies." And then I see this!!

Turns out when he was taking off his goggles in swim class they slipped and snapped him right in the eye!

Now his eye hurts him all the time and is super sensitive to light! My poor baby!

We're thinkin' he probably popped a blood vessel... or like 20!!!

Well this last week it was my wife's 21st birthday! She's getting all grown up on me! I think she had a pretty good birthday. She got a delicious breakfast, tons of presents from all the family and a night packed with a delicious dinner at Texas Roadhouse and then back to our place for cake and Twister!!

Our new friends who went through the temple the same day in Newport, got married the same day as us in San Diego, were on the same cruise for our honeymoon and now are in our WARD here at BYU-I...crazy!!

Wow what a nice get away from Rexburg!

We had a great time camping with the family and going to the Santa Cruz boardwalk.
Mike especially had a good time at the O'NEIL sale!

It was a little chilly that weekend so we didn't make it down to the beach but it was still a lot of fun! We had a lot of nights sitting around the fire talking and lots of yummy yummy food! And when I say lots of food I mean A LOT!!!After all the spinning rides we all felt a little sick but it was so worth it!!
Can't wait for next year!

I'm Learning!

Finally... I am actually learning something in a class that is useful in my life! My homemaking class is probably the best decision I ever made! Thanks mom for pointing it out!!! I think Mike loves my class more than I do!! He loves all my cooking!

We made Pizza Braids...

I made Dough from scratch for dinner rolls and cinnamon rolls...

These dinner rolls turned out so good! They went perfectly with the pork roast I made for Mike and our friends from our ward!

So, yesterday I went for my first bike ride. I went by myself to get a feel for things without completely embarrassing myself. It was really fun! I'm still trying to get used to it but it was fun! Believe it or not I road about 4 or 5 miles! Okay so your all probably thinking, "Woah a whole 5 miles?? Wow Jess impressive! NOT!" But gimme a little slack I haven't exercised at all for probably 2 years and I've never ridden a road bike.

SO your probably wondering what this has to do with the title of this post... Alright well no one ever told me that I would get a sore bum from riding a road bike. And when I say sore, I mean throbbing pain! I couldn't even sit down in the chairs in my classrooms today without sitting tilted to the side! But what do I expect... That seat is just too small! Mike says, "Oh ya that will hurt for about 2 weeks and then your butt will get used to it!" 2 WEEKS?!?! What was he thinking? Well thanks for the heads up honey! Jeez la Weez!

Oh and did I mention how sore the rest of my body is too? We had a soccer game the night before this big bike ride extravaganza so I was already sore from that!! And we've been playing a lot of tennis so I've been sore from that too! Okay enough complaining, look on the bright side hopefully I'll lose some weight in the midst of all the pain! Haha

Anyways, just thought I should update everyone on my Biking status! As of now I'm CONCERNED but we'll see how it goes!

Tonight we had a bunch of friends over before we all went to see WOLVERINE and we cooked frito pie and my dads famous Guacamole! It was so much fun and it was nice to finally have some friends over to our new house!

Welcome to Sky Dive San Diego! Yup we went skydiving the day after we got married and it was amazing! We decided we would do it again in a heart beat!

First day on the Cruise and we were so excited to be there! Having a vacation with the one person you love most in the world is pretty much the best vacation ever!

Mike LOOOVED the dessert... in fact he had 3 to 4 desserts every night!

So I woke up the first morning and my new husband had a new present for me! I was so surprised and I loved my gift!! Thank You My Baby!

Breakfast in Bed anyone? We'll Take It!!!

Welcome to Catalina Island! We had so much fun walking around and shopping! I got two new pairs of sunglasses and some shampoo and conditioner which was desperately needed! We played some arcade games and walked in the sand! It was a beautiful day!

I think we had WAY to many of these ice cream cones!

Isn't he so ROMANTIC? I got out of the shower and he had gone out to buy these strawberries and sparkling cider for us!

HAHA! K so the story behind these type of pictures is the ship took professional pictures of us all throughout the cruise and a lot of them turned out super cute BUT they were like 20 bucks a picture soooo Mike had the brilliant idea of taking pictures of the pictures! He's So Smart!

Welcome to Ensada!We visited La Bufadora or in English the Blow Hole and shopped at the flee market. Mike bought a poncho and we both got matching braclets. We also got a souvenir for Elder Bradley Smith!! We hope he likes it!

This could have possibly been Mike's favorite part of the entire honeymoon! We had real, authentic Mexican Tacos, carne asada and shrimp! They were YUMMY!

We loved coming home everynight after a long night watching karaoke or just eating dinner and having our bed made with a cute but scary towel animal on top.

So this was so FUNNY!! Eric you can relate to this one big brother! We had JUST sat down at our table after waiting in a long line at the buffet to get our food and mike had this beautiful plate of chili fries just piled up! An elderly lady walks by out table and knocks over my drink with her purse and it spills all over mikes whole plate of Chili fries! HE was sooo mad and the lady didnt even say sorry! Mike was so angry he was speechless. He quietly got up and went back in line to get a new plate! Poor thing!! haha

We laid out a lot when the weather was good and Mike worked on his sun tan the whole time even when it was freezing cold! I had to get a photo shoot of this BOD! haha

Welcome to San Francisco!! We ate of the Boudin's Bakery and got a chili bowl and a sandwich! Mike had been raving about this place since we woke up that morning! It was so YUMMY!

We had some fun trying on AWESOME hats! HAHA

Mike paid for me to see through the binoculars to look at the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz! It was so amazing! I love San Francisco!!!

WICKED!!! OMG IT WAS AMAZING!!! I WAS SO EXCITED! When I told Mike I was so happy and that I never win anything he FORTUNATELY reminded me that "You still haven't, I won remember?" Love you too Honey! haha He still has some getting used to this whole being married thing!

We took a trolly ride around the whole city and I've decided I'm in love with San Francisco! It is amazing! Did I mention there is a 3 story Forever 21?!?! Yes San Fran is Heavenly!

Ya so I wasnt very happy for a short time! There was a long line for the trolly and we had to get back to make it to Wicked on time so yes Mike had the bright idea of walking up the street in San Francisco (mind you the hills are sooo steep)!! It was painful! haha

Finally our night ended and we were waiting for the BART and Mike snapped one last shot! A Perfect Day!! Honeymoon was Perfect! I Love you Mike!

So the semester is FINALLY coming to an end and I definitely think after this semester I could use a vacation. Fortunately for me this weekend I just happen to be going on a cruise to Mexico and to San Francisco. Oh and did I mention that its for a Honeymoon? Yep that's right We're GETTING MARRIED THIS SATURDAY!!!! We are so happy and getting very anxious! Can't wait to see everyone on our BIG DAY!!

So, I made a deal with my brother Brad to leave his fixed gear bike with me while he is on his mission. The deal is that I can do whatever I want with it (fix it up, sell it, etc...) as long as when he gets off the plane in two years that I have another fixed gear of equal or greater value waiting for him.

So I sold it. And started looking around on Craig's List....
Well, I found this amazing deal:
A triathlon bike w/ shoes, pedals, helmet and a saddle bag on sale for what I sold Brad's fixed gear for.

I have always had a desire to be a triathlete. Which is strange because I hate running. Regardless, this sealed the deal for me and for the past few weeks I have been training to start competing in triathlons.

The school put on a triathlon today and so I signed up and instantly started doubting myself, and my training, but I showed up and here is the proof:

The run went pretty smooth and I was feeling pretty good until about the last few hundred yards.

I got on the bike and felt great, so I just took off. I definitely had an advantage over all the people on mountain bikes and ended up passing about 12 people on the bike course and moved up to 6th place.

I started cramping towards the end of the bike but downed my water bottle, finished off my Gu and started to feel better.

The swim was one of the hardest things I've ever done! My body was so tight and so tired. I ended up alternating breast stroke and freestyle every other lap and made my triumphant finish.

The official times haven't been posted yet, but I found out that a couple of the people ahead of me may have been on relay teams...so maybe I did better than 6th? We'll see.

So, we went on a whirlwind trip to California this weekend to do a bunch of wedding stuff.

We flew in Saturday morning and went out to breakfast then ran over to the tux shop and got all that stuff squared away.
Then we got to sample cake (Mike's favorite part).
Then we went and figured out flowers for the tables and bridesmaids and everything.
Valentine's night we went to the Harns' for dinner and and had some DELICIOUS filet mignon.
Monday we woke up to a downpour. After 100's of prayers for it to stop raining we got in the car and drove to Huntington to take our engagement pictures. This is us practicing our beautiful smiles.
By the time we got to the spot the sun was out and it turned out to be really nice.
After our photo shoot we were driving to the airport and saw a beautiful rainbow, the perfect ending to the perfect day. Well, not quite the ending, we still had to fly to SLC and then drive back to Rexburg.Mike made an executive decision after comparing Rexburg and Huntington that we are going to leave the Burg in December when we graduate and move down to the warmer climates.

Weekend in Utah

Mike and I took a quick trip to Utah this passed weeked to spend some time with my new little niece, Maddison. She is just so precious and angelic.
We also spent a day snowboarding in park city! That was so much fun, I finally got to wear my new snowboarding outfit. Unfortunately I forgot my camera but we snapped a shot in the car ride home after a beautiful sunny day on the mountain!

We also got to spend a night with some close friends that recently left Rexburg and moved to Utah! We have missed them! We went to Olive Garden on a double date and took some random, silly pictures in ShopKo! ShopKo was a first for mike and I and mike fell in love with a Lazy Boy!

We had a big party at the house with lots of old friends from home! Mike had the opportunity to meet a lot of close family friends! We ate lots of food and played American Idol wii! It was so much fun to spend time with the family and close loved ones!

Fortunately, we had a little comic relief from all the walking as this zoo keeper tried desperately to get these little deer things back in their cages! But the deer were just not having it!! Haha
We even named the most mischevious deer "Uptail" we yelled "Go Uptail Go!"

We're Getting Married!!

So someone came and surprised me this past Friday! I have never been more surprised in my whole life! Mike wasn't supposed to come see me until the 26th of this month and he drove down to surprise me with a very expensive gift! My parents were both in on it and they all completely fooled me!
My dad took my mom and I out to dinner at Outback Steakhouse and I was definitely not opposed to a great steak dinner with the parents. We sat down and ordered drinks. Mike was texting me the whole time talking about how he was going to a movie with a friend in nor cal. Never did I think he would be in Yorba Linda, sitting in the booth right behind me, listening to me talk about him constantly. My parents were acting a tad strange but they just seemed very happy to be there. I thought they just enjoyed my company. My dad said something with a grin that I cant quite remember but directly after that I felt someone grab my hand! Obviously I pulled it away not knowing who was touching me. I looked over at the love of my life down on one knee who said, "Jess, I love you. Will you marry me?"
My eyes filled with tears! I have never felt such joy in my entire life. I was overwhelmed with emotion, not only from the proposal but it was the first time i'd seen him in 2 weeks! It was the PERFECT moment that I will remember forever!
